Hybrid Scrum Master/Business Analyst Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as a Scrum Master or similar work experience.
  • 3+ years experience as a Business Analyst or similar work experience.
  • Servant Leadership.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferably in Computer Science, Business, or Information Systems).
  • Experience working as a Software Developer, QA Tester, Business Analyst and/or Scrum Master.
  • Knowledge and experience of Agile project management methodologies and best practices based on the Agile Manifesto and desire to educate others in the implementation of the process.
  • Strong ability to explain and document the architecture of a system using standard documents (ERDs, Process Flows, DFDs, Mockups, etc.).
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt and pay close attention to detail.
  • Understanding of Microsoft SQL and ability to perform simple select queries.
  • Experienced user of MS Office toolset (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and JIRA.
  • Professional oral and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Skills in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
  • Experience leading a team in pursuit of short and long term timebound objective.


Hybrid Scrum Master/Business Analyst Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead daily agile ceremony meetings (Daily stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Grooming, Sprint Demos and Sprint Retrospectives) to assess sprint progress, report metrics and identify and resolve bottlenecks for the agile team.
  • Facilitate getting work completed under the agreed upon team norms and definition of done by training, mentoring and supporting agile teams.
  • Organize external client facing meetings and delivery demos to coordinate communication between internal stakeholders and customer stakeholders regarding software solution objectives.
  • Act as liaison between the agile delivery team and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to team on suggested self-organized plans and creative solutions to complete delivery commitments.
  • Remove impediments and blockers for items and prevent interruption and distraction from current delivery commitments for the agile team.
  • Collaborate with customers, developers, and engineers to design and document solutions.
  • Create relevant documents to define and present solution to software development and QA testing teams.
  • Present proposed solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot system errors from the perspective of an end-user.
  • Lead backlog grooming sessions and explain backlog items to team for story point estimations.
  • Work with agile team and internal and external stakeholders to organize backlog item priority while contributing to the design and acceptance criteria of new or pending backlog items.
  • Develop feature descriptions for statement of work proposals to prospective clients.
  • Work to create and maintain a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution or judgement and guide the team in solving challenges within their own sphere of influence.
  • Use JIRA as a platform to enable effective communication of current and planned team development activities.
  • Coordinate timelines for agile team project delivery based on identified velocity and forecasts for future sprints.
  • Communicate critical changes in scope or schedule and identify and report key performance indicator (KPI) metrics to stakeholders to improve transparency.
  • Other duties as assigned.
