Job Description

NASCENT Technology, LLC. (NASCENT) is seeking a Jr.-level, talented C#/VB.NET software developer with a background in building scalable, high quality, high-performance, mission-critical applications that interface to a SQL Server database. The candidate will be a key member of an Agile development team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining commercial software applications that automate the gating operations for some of the busiest and largest seaports, railways, and commercial distribution centers in the world. The candidate will be expected to be fanatical about delivering quality, durable and supportable solutions, possess a great work ethic, and be able to collaborate with other members of the company including analysts, developers, support personnel, and business resources to build highly performing enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

  • Successful candidate should be responsible, motivated, and a self-starter who is self-directed and can create a force multiplier to their assigned Agile team.
  • Building new systems in .NET /C#/VB.NET/SQL Server/Web Services/WCF Data Services.
  • Develop new functionality within our existing software suite of products and systems.
  • Develop new services in our future software suite of products.
  • Participate in a small, experienced, energetic team in a Lean continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/DI), agile development.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Experience

  • 1-3 years’ experience as a developer
  • 1-3 years’ experience with C#/VB.NET
  • 1 (+) years’ experience with SQL
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft .NET Framework, including Visual Studio, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Web Services, ADO.NET, etc.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle, (SDLC) best practices.
  • Experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business logic layer, Data access layer) along with some experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA).
  • Ability to develop and optimize SQL Server stored procedures
  • Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment and learn new concepts.
  • Experience working with TCP/IP socket communications a plus.
  • Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team player.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, balancing business needs with a solid commitment to quality, performance, and support.
  • Candidate must be an effective verbal and written communicator with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with advanced software/testing methodologies is a definite plus.
  • Must possess strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

Education and Experience

  • Degree from a two or four-year college or university or equivalent work experience
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excels at operating in a fast pace, collaborative environment
  • Open to direction and collaborative work style with a commitment to get the job done
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view
  • Mobile experience using Xamarin preferred.
