Position Overview

The Internal IT Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure inside the organization. This individual ensures that systems hardware, operating systems, software systems, network hardware and related procedures adhere to organizational values. This individual will also assist in security planning and testing of devices and software packages of the company. The person will be a responsible, motivated, self-starter who is able to work well in a team environment.

  • Install and configure servers, hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with Industries Best Practices and project/operational requirements
  • Update, patch, deploy and administer virtualized servers in a Windows and Linux environment
  • Deliver prompt support using the help desk emails phone calls and personal visits
  • Configure and maintain network switches, routers, and other computer hardware
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions amongst servers and network devices
  • Perform network, system and security audits on hardware and software components
  • Perform regular system backups of internal mission critical systems
  • Draft, update and monitor the company’s privacy notices, policies, data processing agreements and data retention/destruction policies
  • Working knowledge of managing workloads in Microsoft Azure
  • Manage Active Directory user accounts, permissions and structure based on job role and function
  • Actively monitor, maintain, repair, and recover from hardware or software failures
  • Upgrade and configure system software components that supports infrastructure applications
  • Install, configure, and maintain monitoring tools within the organization
  • Implement desktop and server systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objective
  • Build, deploy and maintain workstations, servers, printers, and scanners
  • Maintain organizational department images for user computers
  • Manage all operating systems and end-user software, along with license compliance
  • Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with industry best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
  • Maintain updated inventory of systems hardware and software, third-party services and contracts, licenses, and subscriptions
  • Schedule and preform software and hardware upgrades, patches, and reconfigurations.
  • Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance with business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
  • Communicate with all levels of leadership and personnel

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Five to ten years’ experience with systems administration
  • Working technical knowledge of networks, PC, and platform operating systems
  • Working knowledge of SonicWALL firewalls, Juniper switches, 2 Factor Authentication, MDM Platforms
  • Technical experience working with VMware (5.5, 6.0, 6.5, 7.0)
  • Extensive windows application support experience
  • Dell storage arrays experience
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards
  • Working technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Working technical knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 365 and or Microsoft Office 365
  • Working technical knowledge of VOIP systems
  • Working knowledge of IT Helpdesk systems
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Evaluate and prepare SOC 2 compliance documentation and perform testing that makes practices more reliable
  • Assist Security Team in audit and framework compliance tasks including SOC 2 Type 2
  • Develop a process for and review third party vendor security questionnaires on a quarterly cadence


Work Environment/Dynamics

  • The majority of working hours will be in an office environment
  • Must tolerate stressful situations gracefully
  • Flexible with working remote as needed for projects/implementation
  • Must have internet access at home to be able to remotely VPN to the work environment when necessary
  • Ability to travel on short notice up to 10%
  • After hours work as needed to support the organization
